Rainbow
Genesis 9:12-16
Here I am, sitting in
traffic gridlock -- in the rain -- after a perfectly frustrating
day.
The guy in the car beside me is looking straight ahead, for fear
(I'm sure) that if he looks at me
I'll bite his head off. Then the light changes. As I
look a few blocks ahead, I can't help but notice
this HUGE rainbow, ending right on top of my house! God
sends some of the coolest
wake up calls!
Driving home from work
one day the rain came pouring down
It was the perfect end to a not-so-perfect day
The daily grind had been bothering me
And on my face a frown was etched so hard it would not go away
When off in the distance I could see
A blessing my Father prepared just for me
Chorus
There's a rainbow on my rooftop and it's leading me home
As a reminder of God's promise I will never be alone
As I open up the door I find my children and my wife
Lord I want to thank you
For this pot of gold in my life
Suddenly around me things
began to change
As the bitterness I felt inside was gone
The diamond raindrops sparkled on creation's perfect plan
Showing beauty only matched by God's own Son
Someday soon both you and I
will ride this rainbow with Him to the sky!
Few thousand years ago
When the first rainbow shown down from the sky
It spoke of a promise
To Noah and all his kin
And the same rules apply today for you and I
There's a rainbow on my
rooftop and it's leading me home
As a reminder of God's promise we will stand before his throne
As we open heaven's door and leave behind this world of strife
Lord I want to thank you -- yes I do!
Lord I want to thank you
For this pot of gold in my life
