I have one user (just one!) who keeps getting Shared Memory errors.  We're running SB+ 5.3.8 (upgrading to 5.4.3 next weekend) in UniData 6.1.15 and AIX 5.3.  Every so often, the udt session bombs out with this error:

Error when attaching shm (xxx, xxx, xxx) errno=24

My web searches indicate that the shm configuration should be "fine tuned", but I'm finding conflicting information.  Here's our current settings according to shmconf:

Users Licensed: 90     Platform: 00CD9F4E4C     OS: AIX 3 5

NUSERS.....: 125       SHM_LPINENTS....: 10     MIN_MEMORY_TEMP.: 256
SHM_GNTBLS.: 100       SHM_LMINENTS....: 15     COMPACTOR_POLICY: 1
SHM_GNPAGES: 64        SHM_LCINENTS....: 100    VARMEM_PCT......: 50
SHM_GPAGESZ: 2048      SHM_LPAGESZ.....: 8
SHM_FREEPCT: 25        AVG_TUPLE_LEN...: 4
SHM_NFREES.: 1         EXPBLKSIZE......: 64

SHMMAX......: 1073741824    SHM_ATT_ADD.: 0
SHMMIN......: 1             SHM_LBA.....: 268435456

Any suggestions?

I recall something somewhere about how to calculate all these numbers but I don't have access to it right offhand.  Let me ask someone who would know and see what we can come up with.  And upgrading SB+ likely won't make a hill of beans difference; this is clearly something with Unidata (I believe).  Does this user do anything very memory intensive, like reports out of OHL or stuff like that?

This is our accounts payable clerk.  I suppose I should check OAP.HIST...

Hey Tom, when's the last time "guide" was run?  Did it discover any errors?
