Is there a way to call the users current default browser?  I see references to TU.LAUNCH.APP that launches IE and I can change it to something like CHROME.EXE to launch chrome but given the different choices I was curious if there was a way to send a generic call to the OS requesting a web page to be opened and not browser specific.

If not, I was thinking of just storing the users preferred browser in a user field and looking for the override if they wished not to use Internet Explorer.

Thank you for your time.

That's an interesting question.  I don't have a definitive answer but could the "start" utility on Windows be invoked perhaps?  Or is there some other utility that can identify the extension of an item and kick off the appropriate program based on what's found in the registry?

It appears that the registry key 'HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\shell\open\command' contains the program your system uses for opening http documents.  Not sure if that gets me closer to the answer.

True, not sure how you're going to read that from SBClient.... although, with the WSH integration you might be able to get it that way?
