Derived Fields - Documentation
«
on:

Is there a single source (documentation) for all the features and functions available to create derived fields and OE derived fields?
For instance, on another thread Tom P was talking about using DUP function with multi-values. That information just solved a problem for me. I'd like to think that there's a single source document, perhaps from IBM, that contains that kind of good information.
Thanks.

Chapter 8 of the SB+ Solutions manual has a section on building expressions. This book is available for download from IBM - well, for a couple more days maybe - or can be accessed online at
http://soft-target-tech.com/SB+/
.
The section of particular interest starts here:

For the OE derived fields you could refer to
http://publibfi.boulder.ibm.com/epubs/pdf/29916810.pdf
The 'Creating Virtual Attributes' and 'Dictionary Conversion Codes and Format options' can be useful.

We're going to need to watch for these IBM links going dead in a couple of days, just an FYI. It's my understanding that once the ink is dry, IBM is shutting off all these links for U2 information.
