The news is barely a few hours old and already I've fielded many, many questions about whether this Rocket Software purchase of the U2 product lines is a good or bad thing.  Here's my take:

Cautious ... Optimism

As I see it, there's no reason for pessimism.  Of course, we lose the panache of being an IBM community, but really, how much leverage did this industry ever get from that?  So let's continue business as usual, always keeping one eye on today and the other on tomorrow.

I noticed in the press release that Susie Siegesmund and her group are staying with the product.  Sounds like they're leaving IBM with U2...

Yeah, the news I saw said "everyone" in the U2 group was moving to Rocket.  Let's see if that holds...
