Hello I have been using SB+ for over 10 years and can someone explian to me why Sessions disconnect while users are still inputting data. We use the HRPS Davison Software and the user was keying data and then "boom" session disappears. It seems to happen on windows moreso then on Linux/Unix but it still a major concern.

Thanks

We ran into this with a customer in California; in their situation it wasn't SBClient at all, but rather a deeply embedded Cisco configuration parameter.  Have you tried using an emulator like Dynamic Connect to see if the disconnect happens there as well?  And have you checked the usual suspects like TIMEOUT in Unidata or the TMOUT variable in *nix?

Has Davison support been able to offer any insights into why this might happen?  And is it bringing up the SB+ "Session Disconnected" dialog or is the entire session just disappearing?

Ok she was using the Newton program via remote access Newton uses the B-TREEV and thus will cause conflict with SB+. Found that out the hard way. So I keep tabs on it. But the user said it froze and then disappered.

If you're using only character mode for SBClient and not doing any file transfers or any other thing that specifically requires that program, Dynamic Connect works just as well, is free, and doesn't have the same conflict.  I have a post somewhere in here that describes how to setup DC for SB+, fyi.

We use AccuTerm and love it.  Costs about 1/4 what SBClient does.  I particularly like the Windows editor (WED) that comes with it.  Full syntax highlighting for your Basic code can become addicitive.  WED is to SE as SE is to AE.
